Throwback Thursday: Circumstances of the Peculiar Boy

Throwback Thursday is something silly created by social media... not really sure where it started but there you are.

Some time ago I did a short story titled THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE PECULIAR BOY. I did it originally in the Undercoverfish Anthology. Later I published it in a collection titled CONFESSIONS OF A PECULIAR BOY... AND OTHER STORIES (the "other stories" inspired by titles from Dr. Seuss) for Alterna Comics. The story featured an old bedridden woman in a nursing home who is vexed by a "peculiar boy" that seems to have chosen to sit in her favorite chair. She is annoyed because she can no longer sit in said chair and she resents this boy for being able to do so.

It should be mentioned that the "Peculiar Boy" you see in that tale was actually me. I based the image of the boy on my own Kindergarten photo.

There's a long tale behind the story itself. But I haven't the time to tell it today. But you can still download the book containing the story for your Kindle on Amazon.com!!

The original digital file of the image will be deleted making this print ONE OF A KIND. But, along with the print, you will also be bidding on the original artwork I used of Barnabas and Angelique. Which will also be signed to the winning bidder and dated.

Cover art for Brenda and Effie Forever!

Well, I can let the cat out of the bag now.

Here's the cover I did for one of my favorite writers Paul Magrs's latest book Brenda and Effie Forever.

Sadly, this book will be the final chapter in the Brenda and Effie series. But I was very pleased when Paul sent me a message asking if I wanted to do the cover for the book. Naturally I said "Yes!!" and here it is.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Paul's series, I highly recommend you check it out!! It stars Brenda, the Bride of Frankenstein, who is trying desperately to live a quiet life in the seaside town of Whitby running a little bed and breakfast. But those dreams never turn out as planned as she is continually pulled into strange and otherworldly escapades with her spinster friend Effie.

I'll let you all know when the latest of the Brenda and Effie saga is available for purchase.

I should also mention there is a delightful radio adaptation of Paul's Brenda and Effie series under the title Never the Bride (the first novel in the series) on BBC Radio 4. Check it out online. It's a fun listen for those of you like me who still love old time radio:
