Even though I confess I haven't seen a lot of his films (mostly because he worked a great deal of his career on stage) two of my favorites are A Study in Terror and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
Both made at two different points in his career. The first one is actually one of my top favorite Sherlock Holmes films which was made when he was younger. And the second one was made much later in his career. Terry Gilliam had actually coaxed him back into films at 60 years old. For the best part of a couple decades, Neville had emigrated to Canada and decided only to do theater work.
I'm glad Gilliam convinced him to do it because the results was one of my favorite movies of all time.
Rest in peace John Neville.
